Founded in 1984 by Ms Bong Hiong Hwa, Jia Lei Confectionery & Training Centre is a homey, artisanal bakery and culinary centre that prides itself on a mutual love of food and all things cuisine-related. Jia Lei offers hands-on leisure classes that cover a grand selection of cuisine cultures while delivering culinary training in a fun and relaxed environment. Inspiration plays a large part in teaching – students will garner a rich appreciation for the culture, heritage and history of all great cuisines.
Over the years, its short courses have received overwhelming responses from community clubs and private institutions. Up to date, more than 10,000 students have graduated from our center, equipped with the essential skills needed for them to handle cooking of all sorts.
Last year, the training center was forced to relocate under the government’s land acquisition plan. This has given “Jia Lei” a chance to rebirth. Ms Bong’s student Sharon, whom was not only interested in cooking but also has F&B business experience with a good business acumen, decided to try a different way to operate the centre by rebranding, repackaging and through innovative promotions.
In its new convenient locale near the hot-and-happening Bugis (Queen Street), Jia Lei Confectionery & Training Centre is easily accessible and convenient for all, whether for food-related business needs or pleasure. With our new branding and location, “Jia Lei Confectionary & Training Centre” will soar to new heights.
Formerly known as Jia Lei Confectionery & Training Centre, is one of the pioneer confectionery training centres that offers a range of commercial classes, team building and food appreciation activities for organizations, as well as individuals since its opening in 1984.
Jia Lei Confectionery & Training Centre is home to a selection of fine, experienced baking and culinary instructors. Each a pillar of knowledge in their respective fields of cuisine, these instructors are teachers, patissiers, cooks with a passion for cuisine that is surpassed by none.
